This simple phrase encompasses Datapro's project management philosophy. In order to help our clients select the best technologies and successfully implement these technologies, we must first gain a thorough understanding of the essential areas of their business. Datapro utilizes a five-phase process in order to translate our client's business objectives into a detailed technology specification, and in doing so, define a technology solution that makes the most sense for their business.

Phase I - DEFINITION

Datapro begins all projects by having the client communicate, in the broadest of terms, the business requirements of the project, as well as its short and long-term objectives. During this phase, we determine which company departments and external parties will be affected, as well as the company resources that will be required to complete the project. Preliminary budgets and project timelines are also discussed. At the conclusion of the Definition phase, the client is presented with an executive summary and preliminary proposal that summarizes the scope and requirements of the project, recommends a high-level strategy and provides preliminary cost estimates for the completion of the project.

Phase II - STRATEGY

We help our clients develop a high-level technology strategy based on the project definitions and goals that are established in phase I. We help our clients determine which technologies offer the best fit for the objectives, budget and timeline of the project. At this point, any additional technology providers required by the project are brought in and integration requirements and strategies are formulated. Systems infrastructure requirements are determined and migration and deployment strategies are mapped out.

Phase III - ANALYSIS

We help our clients identify opportunities to better manage and exploit information. Since significant time and money is being invested to implement new technologies, we help ensure that the client is realizing all opportunities that this creates. We deconstruct existing business processes that are affected by the project, and, where appropriate, recommend re-engineering them to work in harmony with the new technology solution.

Phase IV - REQUIREMENTS

We translate the high-level objectives and strategies into low-level functionality requirements and we translate business challenges into technology solutions. We elicit as much feedback as possible from the departments and individuals who will be affected in order to increase the ease of implementation and maximize the suitability of the new technology.

Phase V - PROPOSAL

The final proposal that is presented to the client at the conclusion of the process includes pricing and timelines, and also functions as a detailed specification for the project. This document acts as a charter for the project and confirms to the client that we fully understand the project's objectives and strategies. It also functions as a detailed roadmap for the execution and completion of the project. Upon approval of the proposal, the development work begins.
